According to the report, the ultra-thin and flexible lithium-ion battery developed uses a solid gel electrolyte. The product is very thin, less than 1 mm thick, and can be folded for use.

It is understood that the ultra-thin and flexible lithium-ion battery was developed by Morishita canon, associate professor of industry university cooperation at Yamagata University in Japan. Previously, Morishita Canon also had the development of thin-film batteries, but the final battery could not be fully charged. The research on gel materials has finally reached a practical level.

The advantage of using gel electrolyte lithium-ion battery is that there is no danger of fire or liquid leakage, and it can also be used after being cut off. Morishita Zhengdian said that the development took four years, and it initially carried out two years of joint research with enterprises. Flexible lithium-ion batteries can be used for many purposes, such as the wristband of watches.

Finally, it is reported that in the future, Morita will conduct mass production and cost reduction research with manufacturers, and strive to see its presence in wearable electronic products within two years.
